The application fields of foamed concrete can be mainly divided in three separate fields:
- Pre cast elements
-
Block production
-
Cast in situ
Pre Cast Elements
The foam concrete is cast directly into element moulds or casings made of metal. After the foamed concrete has set, the casing is removed and the light weight concrete element has to harden. This method is used for:

Wall panels

Ceiling panels
The very good insulation properties of foam concrete with low gross densities (high amount of air included) are highly appreciated in the construction of buildings. The low weight of these elements is especially useful for roofs and ceilings.
For walls and facades, foam concrete stones of different sizes are the most common application. They are as easy to handle and to work with as the well-known Ytong stones.

Block Production
A common method in the field of foamed concrete is the block production. On the one hand the foamed concrete can be cast directly into cassette moulds with the final block dimensions on the other hand big blocks are manufactured and after the demoulding they can be sawed into the final block dimensions. The last procedure is reflecting Dr. Lucà und Partner´s LithoPore Block Concept.

Flooring
Foam concrete is very useful as additional layer in floors. Not only does it even out the floor level, it also considerably reduces the subsonic noises.

Roofing
Especially in southern countries foamed concrete is used for flat roofs mainly for insulation purpose.

Substructure of streets
In road construction, foam concrete can be used as subgrade instead of or in addition to the common stone subgrade. This is particularly applicable on soft undergrounds.

Holes and hollow spaces
Due to good flowing properties and low shear forces, foam concrete is very popular for filling and stabilizing tubes, shafts, tanks, wells, mines or any other hollow spaces with this low cost filling material. E.g. this procedure is used for mine filling

Wall filling
Foamed concrete is also used as a filling material for walls from houses and industrial halls. Through this method lots of housing projects in developing countries are realized. In this case the time factor is very important. With a foamed concrete machine by Dr. Lucà und Partner several houses per day can be easily manufactured. Prior the wall moulds have to be set up before the foamed concrete can be cast into. Finally only the moulds have to be taken off.
