FERMILUX - Indigo-selective bleaching agent

The products belonging to the Fermilux brand bleach indigo dyed materials by specific oxidisation of the indigo dye to Isatine. These products are therefore referred to as indigo-selective. The textile fibre (cotton, Elastan, etc.) is not bleached in the process by the Fermilux products: the risk of damaging the fibre, as in the case of using so-called chlorine-based bleaches or other oxidisation agents (hydrogen peroxide and other peroxides) is therefore avoided. In contrast to the Fermilux products, hydrogen peroxide is not indigo-selective and therefore primarily attacks the cotton fibre.

Fermilux Certification by BAM

Fermilux products have been tested and certified by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM) Germany. In contrast to other bleaching agents composed of active oxygen, Fermilux products are not classified as hazardous goods. Major denim launderers and commercial enterprises have given their confirmation to Dr. Lucà & Partner that Fermilux II Blue 200-S is among the most potent indigo-selective bleaching agents in the world. The products all match the GOTS guidelines.
Fermilux products, applied in very low doses, are also suitable as anti-backstaining products or final rinsing agents.
